OK I am new and did a home sleep study, need help

Post by Do nurses have OSA? » Thu Aug 19, 2010 5:52 pm

Need some help please. Had a home study for fun and I have an AHI of 7 asummed to be during REM sleep. The big kicker was I would desat to 79% ouch I need all of my brain cells. So I purchased a RESMED S8 autoset II with humidifier. My settings from my study were 10 with a CFlex of 3. To not turn this into insurance and keep my dirty little secret, I am going to treat this on my own. initially and see if I feel better. I have mild elevated blood pressure and take a duiretic. I work one 24 hour shift a week so can't really tell about excessive daytime sleepiness. My epworth sleepiness score is low.

This is where I need your help. After doing some homework I chose the above labeled machine from CPAPauction. Hopefully I chose well, but if not I will make it work. I am hoping this is a fully data capable machine. I intended to purchase one and hopefully I was successful. First I need to know how to enter my settings. Next I need to know how I purchase software to interpret my information. I would appreciate any tutoring you could provide a novice like me. I am hoping this assists me in losing the 50 lbs I have gained the past 14 months.

Will wait to hear your wisdom and THANKS.

You can get the clinician's manual for your machine at this site: http://www.apneaboard.com/ This will give you the way into the hidden menu to set your pressures.

As for the software, someone with that machine will be along to help you. It is a data capable machine, but it uses an earlier version of the ResScan software. I am not sure which one.....
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.
