babon87, glad you're already feeling better- that's a good sign. I think most of us have an initial period of adjusting to the machine, so the feeling of your body fighting the machine is probably normal.
Relax was good advice. I know easier said than done, but it sounds as though you're off to a good start.

When I first started on C-pap I had a few problems waking up. After about a week or so I even quit falling asleep in my recliner. Then they went away, then dreaming came back...now after 5+ years on C-Pap, and now Bi-Pap, I wake up every morning at 0315. I did that for over 20 years going to work @ 0400 hrs. every morning. I now feel that I am no longer sleep deprived.
Good Luck there is a lot of good information on this forum.

Give it a few days. You won't be able to sleep without it.babon87 wrote:Hello , today was the second day use of CPAP machine for me , I woke up at 2:00am and took a while to get back to sleep but woke up in the morning feeling totally energetic!

Hi,babon87 wrote:I woke up at 2:00am and took a while to get back to sleep but woke up in the morning feeling totally energetic!
That is totally normal for some people when getting started. Your body is so used to getting bad sleep at night that when you finally had a few hours of good sleep, it was ready to get up and get going again. Your brain didn't know what to do with all of that sleep. Put another way, you have built up years of coping mechanisms to survive, and now it is going to take a while to unlearn them. Your body essentially has to learn to sleep all over again. I suspect that you will adjust pretty quickly. I ended up with a 90 minute awake period at about 2AM for a few months after starting CPAP. It started to taper off after about 4 months, and it got very rare after 6 months.
I don't think that your body is fighting it. Rather, it is adapting. It is a new pattern. You are suddenly having to move your chest and diaphragm more, breathing deeper, and not moving around as much. You may have to give your body some time to get used to these changes.babon87 wrote:how do I get used to it ? I feel that my body is fighting getting used to it
The fact that you did sleep well, got back to sleep, and felt pretty good the next morning are all very good signs that you are on the right track.

thanks for your response!
my pressure is set at 11cm of H20 and I am currently using confort gel mask but will try and see if the Quattro will work better within a few days.
