Resmed Chin Restraint

Post by bono1 » Fri Aug 06, 2010 9:45 am

Hi, i am thinking about getting the resmed chin restraint.
http://www.resmed.com/us/products/acces ... c=patients

can you tell me your experience with it? Does it help with closing the mouth? Is there anything i should be looking out for when i get it ? Is it comfortable?

Thanks.

I would recommend looking at other options, the resmed chinstrap is well constructed but the single strap design slides off of the head during the night. I would try a papcap or a ruby style, it looks more like a wrestling headgear. For most people it helps but some flex their jaw open during the night. So I have seen mixed results.

thanks. i will probably give the papcap a shot. my leakeage rate is about 14.4lL/hr. Seems pretty high and i think its because i am opening my mouth

can you only get it from cpap.com? or is it available with the medical supplier?
