Have you had success using an autopap for retitrating?

Post by jayjp04 » Fri Aug 06, 2010 8:05 am

Hi,

Currently using resmed elite II with humidfier, the new resmed nasal pillow mask, and a set pressure of 7cm water. My AHI most nights is 5-7, leak anywhere from 0.02l/m to 0.25l/m. My main issue to begin with was UARS (33 arousals/hour on sleep study). Been on continuous positive airway pressure for about 18 months.

I have had a few nights where my AHI is as low as 2-2.5. I feel a HUGE difference in energy levels going from a 5-7 down to a 2, I feel much better! I was wondering if anyone has had success using an autpap to retitrate their pressure, and if it will be sensitive enough move me down in AHI from 5-7 to that 2-3 level or less.

Thanks!

I never had any better luck with an Auto than just tweaking my CPAP pressures. All the Auto did was verify that I had already determined the right CPAP pressure......and not all that well at that.

If your pressure is at 7 cm., I'd suggest moving it up about 1 cm. for about a week at a time and see how the numbers look.

(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow
