Re: long time swift user which mask should i switch to
I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The LT and FX are great masks, but like any new and different equipment they have their own quirks and issues. If you are happy with your current mask, your numbers are good, and you feel good, why rock the boat?

Looking at the original post sounds like the mask currently in use is the original Swift.
I would upgrade and stick with a swift product if the swift has been working well so far. Remember you can always go back to your old mask if it doesn't work out.
In my opinion upgrading to either the swift LT or swift FX is a must since the original swift is very old technology.bangy104 wrote:..should i remain with swift or go for swift2 , swift -lt etc...

The Swift is no longer available. So unfortunately bangy doesn't have a choice!
I used the LT for her but I can tell you it is a great mask, BUT you will need to get new pillows once a month.
You may even want to try the FX, but I have read on here that the pillow quality is still the same.
Good Luck and let us know how you do.

I just switched from the Swift LT to Swift FX. I loved the LT, but the FX is a notch above.

I have the LT (for her) and I would not want to trade it for an FX simply because the pillows swivel up or down to adjust to your nares. The swivel has a sort of rubber clicky wheel to make the pillows move so it's not like they slide easily when you don't want them to. I used the swivel every night to get just the right fit.
I just had to go to a hybrid because of mouth breathing and I can tell you that the cartilage between my nares is getting sore from the pillow pressing into it. I can't adust it down like I did with my LT since the pillows are stationary

For a long time my favorite mask was the Swift II. I always got better sleep and numbers from it than the Swift LT. Now my choice is the Swift FX. It is so light and flexible and even though the strap on the back of my head rides up a lot, I wake up much less to adjust it than I did with either the II or the LT. It just doesn't leak as easily as the II or the LT. The pillows seem to need replacing more often than my Swift II, but my ins. lets me get a new set every month. I really like the Swift FX.

Re: long time swift user which mask should i switch to
I have used all 3 Swift masks, and personally I like the Swift II best. I am a sleep tech and I let my patients try on all three Swifts and the Swift II and Swift LT are about a tie. I can't give away the FX though. Next to nobody wants that mask. Its a great mask in theory, but it slips off the user fairly easily, and pulls away from the nose easier than the other two. Its too bad, because the actual design and improvements of the FX are great. I love the tubing that comes with the FX. I am a big fan of the Respironics Easy Life, its very soft and seals well. It is bulky though. I have to use a full face mask as I am a mouth breather. I would probably suggest what some of the others have, why fix it if it isn't broke? If you really want a FX, try it. ResMed has a 30 day comfort guaruntee. If you aren't happy with your mask, you can bring it back to the HME and switch it for one of the other Swifts at no cost. I don't think this applys to internet companies, since they have to pay for shipping, but I know some of them offer an insurance program where if you pay a little extra, you can return it and switch it. Good luck. Glad to hear you are getting along with your treatment.
