Has anyone had this problem with Rescan?

Post by jojojta » Tue Aug 03, 2010 8:32 pm

Just recently whenever I try to print my report from Rescan it won't let me. A box appears that says Rescan caught an unhandled exception form within a Plugin The plugin will now be unloaded. Any insight would be appreciated.

Maybe try to Save the report?

It saves as a PDF, that would be easy to print outside of the system.

I have to ask, have you given ResScan time to umplug the PlugIn and then tried printing? It may be that you are not allowing ResScan to unplug the PlugIn and so it never gets unplugged. ResScan is a bit slow as I'm sure you've noticed.

AND it has been several months since I used ResScan but I "think" you HAVE to save the report, then look to the lower left and see its name listed, then click on its name and try printing again.

If these don't work then ... Yup, what UnaDog said.

I'm thinking that you may have to reinstall ResScan. I don't know if you should uninstall (not delete) it first, however.

I also don't know if ResScan is smart enough not to blow away your data during deinstall/reinstall. One would think that they would be very careful to preserve a medical practice's data (that's who ResScan is intended for), but it's possible it doesn't. So you should do a data export (file > export, then make sure your patient name appears, then click export all), just in case.

Thanks, I will try all of these suggestions. It used to print but I'll trying slowing down before printing and will try the save and export. I tried emailing it to one of my accounts to print later but got the same error type message. I may hav e to reinstall. Are you saying that I should not delete? I am meeting with Dme this week so they can take the 3 mos compliance info off the card and after that I don't care what happens with the information as I have most of it printed out except for the past 2 weeks.

I haven't needed to do this, but I think that the best reinstallation steps would be:

1. Export your data to a file that is outside of the main ResMed folder. Just in case.
2. Uninstall ResScan using the Windows Add/Remove Programs screen. Do NOT just find the program .exe file and delete it.
3. Install ResScan just like you did the first time.
4. Open ResScan and check that your patient is there with all of its data.
5. If the patient and/or data is missing, import the file exported in step 1.
