Newbie Question - Anyone using a mouthpiece/shifting teeth?
Other than those who have responded, is there anyone out there that 1. is using any type of mouthpiece, 2. How long have you used it? 3. Did you have a shifting of the teeth or why are you using that along with the mask? 4. What type of mask are you using? 5. If I got a mouthpiece with my mask, what would you suggest getting? Thank you. All the best.

I wear a mouth guard because I grind my teeth. It's made by my dentist. I have no problems with it. It was molded to my teeth so it fits just right, no shifting of my teeth. I use a nasel mask and a chin strap. Took about a week to get used to "all this crap on my head", but I sleep well now and don't grind.

Like jazzer4, I have a "night guard" made by my dentist. I've worn it for at least 12 years, well before beginning CPAP. I'm a tooth clencher, rather than a grinder. My dentist says she has seen patients whose teeth have shifted from pressure from their CPAP mask. I have not had that problem and I don't know how common it is. But I do think that CPAP users should see their dentist regularly, and should choose a dentist who is familiar with apnea and CPAP treatment.
