S9 LOST DETAILED DATA

Post by torontoCPAPguy » Sun Jul 11, 2010 9:24 am

I am ticked off at myself. I guess I need to read the manual again.

Last night, after returning my S9 Auto to the settings that are supposed to give me the best results I have been getting (asides from getting up a 5:30 a.m. which I seem to have resolved for some reason) I had NO DETAILED DATA.

To be fair, I had forgotten to return the SD RAMCARD to the S9 yesterday and went to sleep without it inserted. I went to sleep late as the kids were out and we tend to wait up for them to arrive home (1:30 a.m. and they are great kids; movies and then coffee with friends and then home - no drinking, no smoking by anyone in the vehicle. Or they call for us to pick them ALL up and take them home).

Anyway, I digress. The SDRAM Card was NOT inserted in the machine when I retired for the night. When I got up at about 9:30 a.m. I realized it was not in the machine and inserted it. What I got was summary data for the night I think as well as detailed data from 9:30 - 10:30 while I laid and read in bed waiting to get up and make breakfast for the family (yeh, I'm a pussy - just try and take advantage or harm a loved one and you will see how much of a pussy I can be - more like a mountain lion).

When I inserted the card in the laptop and downloaded at 1100 hours I told the software (ResScan Version 11) to overwrite summary data (at least I think that's what that screen said).

Lo and behold, I have detailed data from 0930 hours to 1030 hours and nothing but summary data for the night. And oh, how I wanted that detailed data.

Questions:

(1) Is the SD RAM CARD itself used as revolving memory for the S9? In other words, no card in the slot = no detailed data?

(2) Why does the detailed data and the summary data show Saturday June 10 even though I went to bed after midnight and it was June 11 technically? It doesn't say June10/11, just June 10. Could be confusing for those that regularly go to sleep after midnight. Must be a DUH? like having the zippers on the BOTTOM of the carrying case. Hello ResMed? Anyone listening or watching this forum from ResMed. You should be you know. There's lots of valuable information on here.

Is there any way at this point to retrieve any of the detailed data from last night or have I totally blown it because the card was not in?

(3) Will the S9 take a 2 or 4 or 16 GB SD Ramcard in place of what is in there, which I gather is only a 1GB card? And will there be any advantage whatsoever? Will it work?

(4) Is there any way to get the darned machine to retain detailed data on the card for longer than a blink by using a larger card and chaning a setting? (I don't see any)

(5) How do I insert my report resluts/graphs onto this posting in future?

Thanks very much. I hesitate to ask ResMed because they can't even seem to get the zippers on the right side of the carry case.... just plain dumb luck that they have a superb blower on their hands in the S9 and my numbers have dropped on their own and are pretty good.

Yes, several of us have been burned by that.

Sic. Build a world class blower and for the sake of two bucks worth of RAM you do half a job on the detailed data retention. Bizarre. But, after all, this is the company that puts its top of the line blower in a carrying case that has the zippers on the bottom! And nobody knows why.

I would like very much to get a schematic of the innards of this S9 Auto.

Toronto, there are programs that can recover data such as pictures from sd cards. say you delete pictures from your memory card for your camera you can retrieve them. just google sd card recovery tool. here is one that came up on a search and it's free MjM Free Photo Recovery Software. I have used these before for pictures, nothing is ever totally erased. always make sure you un mount the sd card or any usb devise don't just unplug it.
good luck if I can help let me know

same happened to me the other day....i was testing my new hybrid mask in early evening...and pulled the data on the card so i could take a look at the leak data...lo and behold, i forgot to re-enter the datacard. The next night / morning, after I got summary data for the night that the card was missing but no detailed data....

also be careful about the overwrite / discard....i've discarded data before and then have been unable to retrieve...

2 bucks times thousands of unit sold over its lifespan = lots of bucks

and it's still a world class blower

i made the same mistake a couple of times but i never noticed the zippers thing.
