Itchy Nose

Post by profoundapena » Tue Jul 06, 2010 12:29 pm

Every night when I hose up, for the first few minutes it feels like there are hairs or something on my nose. I get this itchiness. I wash the mask and my face before sleeping, immediately before sleeping, so there can't be any hairs causing this. I do have 2 cats but I keep my house very clean and have a cover that I take off the bed when I sleep. I think it's just my own sensitivity to the pressure or something. Any comments?

I get the odd itch on my nose or around my lips as soon as I mask up a couple of times a week. No idea why. It usually goes away pretty quickly, whether I scratch it or not.

It's inevitable! I start to get an itchy nose every time I mask-up!

Rub the area (like your nose) before putting the mask on. It desensitizes the area and minimizes those occurrences.

I'll second the rub the area before putting the mask on suggestion. It doesn't work 100 percent of the time, but for me it definitely helps.

Rubbing the nose is a great Idea, Thank you.

I to get the itches after masking up, I also get them during the night. I wounder if my mask is leaking when that happens?

Many thanks for your reassurances and advice. I actually cut some of my nose hairs yesterday. It was slightly better last night. I will try the nose rubbing.

I love the cranky Garfield pic. That's me when I wake up for sure. I just can't help it.

Thank you, I am actually thinking of changing it because I have been waking up feeling good since I started my cpap treatment.
