Fisher & Paykel HC254 AUTO CPAP
Has anyone tried this machine? My machine or mask constantly wakes me up and this one has something called sense awake that is supposed to help you get back to sleep. It sounds interesting but I would like some advice before I spend the money.

I have this machine but just got it.
I did my trial on the 234 CPAP, but wanted a version with data tracking. That said, I do miss the 'ramp' that the 234 had, and supposedly this one has...but I'm not seeing it.

Sense Awake info from cpap.com
SensAwake addresses user intolerance for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure therapy. Comfort is critical during an awakened state, particularly for new users who have difficulty returning back to sleep when CPAP pressures are high. SensAwake monitors CPAP airflow and reduces pressure levels when respiration becomes irregular. Irregular breathing is a general marker that a user is transitioning from a sleep state to an awakened state. This personalized treatment prevents users from awakening and ultimately improves therapy effectiveness.

Thank you for the replies. It sounds like exactly what I need. I would love to sleep all night without getting woke up by my machine pressure and mask farts.

I wouldn't have too much faith in the descriptions (which are written by the manufacturers.) Hopefully someone with experience with SensAwake will show up.
As you must have noticed, most of the forum members have machines from one of the two R's. After those come the DeVilbiss Intellipaps. And that's probably because they are the best at making deals with the DMEs.

I totally agree with what you said. I am just getting desperate for a good nights sleep. I do like their masks and humidifier.jdm2857 wrote:I wouldn't have too much faith in the descriptions (which are written by the manufacturers.) Hopefully someone with experience with SensAwake will show up.

Re: Fisher & Paykel HC254 AUTO CPAP
I have not used the new Fisher & Paykel HC254, but the Fisher & Paykel 604 is my preferred cpap. By far, it is the quietest machine I've used. (My other experiences are with the old Respironics "Tank" and a newer version of the auto M series.) Both Respironics have worked fine for me, and I use the M series model from time to time to gather data. Otherwise, though, the F&P 604 is the one I use on a nightly basis. In addition to the amazing quiet motor, I find the heated hose humidification is really helpful, as I use a full-face mask, and appreciate the higher level of humidification. I was somewhat surprised that I didn't miss the C-Flex/A-Flex features of the Respironics, as I found the expiration relief very helpful as I started cpap treatment almost 6 years ago. But the "wind-up/wind-down" high pitched whine of the Respironics autos would wake me. Now, I sleep through the night, straight pressure set at 10, plentiful humidity without rainout.
