Encore Pro 2/Uninstall-install

Post by warrior391 » Fri Jul 02, 2010 7:11 am

Ok, so I thought I uninstalled the program,( because I couldnt remember my password) from my add/remove programs. I reinstalled the new 2.3 version, but it is not showing up anywhere in my add/remove programs, and when I try to open it to sign in, I get a message "could not check the database version" and it looks like it's still the 2.2 version that never uninstalled completely. Anyone know how to get that working again please.? When I downloaded the 2.3 version, it took awhile and then said downloaded successfuly and then the install wizard did it's thing, but still cant find it anywhere. When I open the icon that is still showing, it still looks like its the old version but will not open...like its partially uninstalled. Any IT gurus out there...thanks in advance.

Whew! I sure appreciate your posting this inquiry and hope you get an answer that's not too complicated for this beady old brain to fathom!

I have EP 2.2.14.0 and I did something to blow its mind after a data download. I have to exit and then re-enter to close out the download and access the data so was seriously considering uninstalling and installing again. But even my 'puter guru had fun installing it originally because we had to download several things from MS so I've been reluctant to do so until I need to have my 'puter guru out again to bail me out of a problem. I prefer to have him do several things to my 'puter whilst he's here. His rates are very fair but ....

I hate EncorePro. ResScan was so much easier. *sigh* I so wish Resmed would get their S9 VPAP Auto on the market. *sigh* Its not that I don't like the PR SystemOne BPAP Auto w/Bi-Flex. Its a darn good BPAP. Its just that I DETEST EncorePro!!! I didn't like it any better back in the earlier days, EP 1.5.7 or some such, even w/the MyEncore and EncoreAnalyzer freeware.

My computer says I need to upgrade my brain to be compatible with its new software.

I just FINALLY install Encore Pro 2.2 and ran the program. When getting data from my SD card, the software only gives me an option for an ^.EXP file extension. However, I don't have any files on my SD card with that extension. What am I doing wrong??? The files listed below are the files on my card:

[P-series (folder)]
[P0140396XXXXX (folder)]
[p0 (folder)]
[0000000001.001 (file)]
[0000000001.002 (file)]
[0000000001.005 (file)]
[0000000002.001 (file)]
[0000000002.002 (file)]
[0000000002.005 (file)]
[0000000003.001 (file)]
[0000000003.002 (file)]
[0000000003.005 (file)]
[0000000004.005 (file)]
[properties.txt (file)]
[last.txt (file)]

Please keep in mind that I had only used this BiPAP for 4 days. Where is the ^.EXP file that they are asking?

warrior391 - when you uninstall encore pro you also need to uninstall microsoft sql server - i think this will be the case with encore pro 2 but i only ever had to uninstall encore pro 1.something... To do a clean install you need to uninstall both encore pro and microsoft sql server then reboot the computer before re-install. This will lose all your data though which is a pain.

re passwords you can use windows username instead. pm me for info.

sandman99 - it looks like you are going to utilities import patient (exp is an encore export file)? Actually you need to create a patient with your details then click orange "+" button next to the name and select download.

- depends on which OS you are using.

In Vista its Control Panel > "Programs and Features".. Click on Microsoft SQL Server - it should remove the rest. If you don't reboot AFTER the uninstall, you wasted your time.

When you reinstall Encore the 1.x versions had a checkbox so you didn't need a password. If you MUST have a password choose one you are using NOW or something you will Never EVER forget. Your name? Home Phone? Something simple.

IF you have to constantly change any password choose a base like "Your Name" then add the month you have to change it like YourName07 each time you have to change it choose that months number.

Or YourNameJul - You should be able to at least remember the month you were last able to logon.

IF you need a special character use Your-Name-07

Wait, just found something...In my start menu, "all programs"> I have a "respironics" and also a microsoft SQL server 2008, when I click on Microsoft SQL server I get "configuratio tools" as well as "import and export data(32 bit). When I click on delete on either folder, it says modifying this folder will affect all users who log on to this computer...

Vista and Win 7 have "Programs and Features".

In XP sub "Add Remove Programs" for "Programs and Features". All else is the same.
Deleting software the way you mentioned tends to cause problems.

Let me know how you make out.

U said to click on the Microsoft SQL server, that it should remove the rest? Clicking on it just brings up a few more dropdowns...
So how do yo mean?

In XP Control Panel > "Add Remove Programs".. Click on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - it should ask if you want to "UNinstall". Make sure you are clicking on "Microsoft SQL Server 2005".

It sounds like you are going in thru "Start > Programs".

IF you have troubles go to Start > Help - enter "Control Panel" then follow the above after you get to "Control Panel".
