Mask on mask off

Post by Beeziz » Sun Jun 27, 2010 9:52 am

Dear CPAP gurus,

I have started the search for the "perfect" mask given that my reading this site had shown me that there are some of you out there who are having leak free and sleep filled nights. I recently switched from a Mirage Quattro full face mask to the Mirage Liberty full face mask. Pros of the switch are that I no longer have a blister on the bridge of my nose from the Quattro, cons, almost inevitably those sneaky nasal pillows on the Liberty shift position creating a leak. I tried last night to use surgical tape to secure the pillows in place and this worked well. However, I woke up totally dried out, plus the feel of the mask is uncomfortable in a different way. I am now thinking that if I could fix the Quattro's sealing problems without destroying my nose bridge I would be better off. I have heard of a fabled anti leak strap for the mirage Quattro, can someone please post a link to it, because if that works I'll definitely switch back. I also have to thank the forum for keeping me compliant, when I wake with mask discomfort and can't sleep I sign on and read the success stories. I look forward to the advice.

Thanks

Rich

Although I see that you are using full face; I use the Mirage Softget as well as the Activa LT masks (nosebags) and they are pretty good for me. I am still looking for the "perfect" mask and I suppose I always will.... it's one of those things.

The legs of inexpensive women's tights (not pantyhose) make comfortable do-it-yourself straps. Just cut the leg off of the panty part and cut off the foot. Use the tubular leg part intact for the strap. Be careful not to obstruct the mask's vents.

If a strap positioned like Pad-A-Cheek's works for you, you might then want to purchase one of hers. P-A-C makes good products.
