S9 Elite Functionality Question
Maybe I'm doing something wrong. But I set up Ramp Up on my S9 to any amount of time (Now, I have it at 20 minutes) and I have SmartStart/Stop On (turns off the pressure when I remove my mask).
Does anyone know why, when I start the unit by holding the button 3 seconds (to warm up the humidifier), it ramps up in like 30 seconds? Does it matter if I "warm up" the humidifier if I don't have the ClimateLine hose?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
It's an hour later than my "weeknight" bedtime, so we'll see how this goes. Soccer tomorrow for the kids at 10:30. Last game of the season!

Re: S9 Elite Functionality Question
Your not holding down the button on the left of the screen for 3 seconds by chance are you?
If you may be again by chance then you will want to hold the turn knob button down for the 3 seconds to the right of the screen instead.
Personally I do not use the ramp feature anymore stopped after a few days it was just annoying me more then helping but then my Pressure is only 10..

Re: S9 Elite Functionality Question
Biggie_D. Nope. Not holding that button down.
Decided last night to NOT hold down the button on the right for the 3 seconds (the "turn dial" button). That seems to have helped. I guess without the ClimateLine, there is no "warm up" of the humidifier.
I'll continue to play with it and see what happens. It's not like it's detrimental to my therapy.
Thanks.

Re: S9 Elite Functionality Question
I recently got an S9 (LOVE IT! )
The "warm up" preheats the plate for the humidifier. This it is independant of the ClimateLine hose. The ClimateLine hose lets you set a temp for the air that is delivered and has a sensor at the mask end so it can adjust accordingly. The temp feature is disabled if you don't have the hose. If the warm up was dependant on the hose, my guess is it would be disabled as well if the hose wasn't present.
In the S9/H5i User Guide ( http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/documen ... er_eng.pdf ) it explains the warm up feature on page 6.
If you use a higher humidity setting, pre-warming might help. The lower your humidity setting, the less important I imagine it is. Some folks are more sensitive to the humidity level, so I guess it is just a personal preference issue.

Re: S9 Elite Functionality Question
Right. But the warm up seems to do something to the rampup. Like if I set rampup to 45 minutes and use the 3-second dial press for warmup, it takes only a few minutes to get to my scripted pressure.
I thought I had the user guide and read it. Will check it out again.
Thanks, bro. BTW, I've been out there to Wilsonville once on a business trip. Nice area, at least where I was.

Re: S9 Elite Functionality Question
Hmmm, I don't use ramp since I fall asleep pretty quick and only have an 8-12 spread on my pressure.
Maybe I'll play with it when I get home. I would think the two would have nothing to do with each other (ramp and pre-heat)

Re: S9 Elite Functionality Question
I don't know, I use the warm up every night, I have a Slimline Hose, it takes 15 mins for the warm up to take place then it tells me its done then I push the start button and off I go its worked that way both when I used the ramp feature and now when I don't use it. Not that it should matter my Humidity is set too 3.5 becuase I live in the Jackson Wyoming Area at 6500 FASL and its REALLY REALLY dry here all year long. I get 2 nights out of each tank.

Re: S9 Elite Functionality Question
I got the rampup last night to work fine, but didn't warm up the H5i. No worries. Worked fine.
I think I don't like the rampup, though.
8.1 hours. 0.1 AHI. 0.0 CI, 0l/m leak 95%ile.

Re: S9 Elite Functionality Question
I don't know about the s9, but in the s8, a 3 second press on the the ON button get you into mask fit mode -- at full pressure. Pre-heating the humidifier, on the s8 is not done with the ON button.
