Dreams

Post by LeeAnne in Niagara » Sat Oct 22, 2005 7:57 pm

Hi all. I was just wondering something. I noticed that since I have been back on cpap in earnest, I dream more (or at least remember them more). Has anybody else noticed this? Is this a sign that maybe the cpap is working??

Lots of info in past threads about this topic (just use the search function located at the top of this page).

Here's a link with threads compiled by rested gal:

Happy reading!

I seem to dream much more that before CPAP. I assume it is a sign of better quality sleep. Also sleeping more hours and falling asleep much faster.

I check out those prior threads.

I have had just the opposite experience. I had dreams constantly before CPAP now I seldom dream, or remember them anyway. They wore me out!
I don't miss them at all.

WooHoo! Life is good.

My experience is like Peg's. I remembered lots of dreams before CPAP. Often I'd remember up to five dreams, some so vivid and realistic that I couldn't tell if some were real or not. I actually miss them. According to my sleep study, I was being pulled out of REM sleep every 2-3 minutes when my apneas would be longer and more frequent. Since my first night on CPAP in the sleep lab I've been waking up in the morning not remembering any dreams except for the last couple of weeks I've been vaguely remembering my dreams, though, so I don't know what that means.

Gained lasting notoriety for snoring at age four. Finally went to a sleep lab on June 23, 2005. Using CPAP since August 18, 2005.

I noticed that after being on CPAP, I not only remembered more dreams - but they seem much more VIVID!

On the topic of dreams, I have a friend who started a forum called the dream library which allows for you and others to share their dreams. Although it is not specifically for those with sleep disorders, it may prove helpful to you to have a place to log and discuss them with others. Here is the site.

Definitely dream more and also feel more rested. I do wake up to adjust my equipment and pillows a few times, but always fall right back asleep. A definite change from waking up several times a night and laying awake for an hour or two. Will have to check out those links provided.
