Dry nare/nose after 3 months with problems ANY ADVICE

Post by BigAn » Wed Jun 16, 2010 10:07 am

I've ben on CPAP since 3/23/2010 using Resmed S9 with H5i heated humidifier and Swift FX nasal pillows with absolutely no issues or complaints. The last 3 days however I've been noticing that the inside of my left nare is dying and starting to bother me. Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a nasal spray such as AYR to lubricate the nares? Helps to use it before bedtime as well as AM.

Ill give that a try, dont want to have to stop using the CPAP and go back to all the symptoms I had before. Thanks for the advice. Where can you get AYR?

1. Check the climateline heating settings -- make sure they haven't been changed inadvertantly.

2. March is spring, June is summer - are you using air conditioning? That dries the air you breathe in.

You can try a saline mist spray--some come in squeeze bottles and some come in aerosolized cans--available at any drug store. Some of them have a preservative in them, I prefer the kind that are just saline and water.

Just give a squirt or spray in each nostril once or twice a day. I like to do it at least 1 hour before bedtime so I don't start out CPAP (I use nasal pillows) with a wet nose.
