When my S9 Elite is turned on, I noticed air constantly leaking from the two holes on either side of the fitting (indicated by red arrows above). Is this supposed to leak like that? I took the fitting off of my nasal mask that doesn't have those holes and put it on the full face mask. Then my AHI went up to 60.1 (from 49.7 and 26.5 the previous two nights). It's a shames to get a CPAP machine and then not get to see a doctor for several weeks. Good thing I have all of you wonderful people here.

Those holes are part of the Flexi Fit's anti-asphyxia valve. The valve is there to make sure you have room air available to breathe when you wear the mask and the machine is off. When pressurized air blows through your mask, the leaves in that valve are supposed to snap the holes shut and no air should be coming out.
I suggest you refit your mask the way it's supposed to be, and check the valve. If it doesn't snap shat, and lets air out when the machine is working, have it replaced.
You present AHI on the machine is horrendous.

Thanks, ozij. That's kinda what I figured. It's missing the parts that flap shut - all one solid piece of hard plastic. I'll keep my 'no holes' fitting on until I get this one fixed. Thanks again!

If you're sure its missing the flaps then just stop using the mask.

I'm getting a hybrid mask tomorrow. The full face mask was too uncomfortable.

Today I got a Mirage Quattro and it feels so much better. Can't wait to see how it works out tonight.
