Ive been on CPAP a couple of years and had the RemStarPro with Software etc. About a year ago I started having some probs and my Sleep Dr recommended and AutoPap for a week to see if I needed a pressure change.

Got the AutoPap, called the DME several times to get my results and they never called back. I mentioned this to my PCP and she looked in my records. Lo and behold, they had changed my pressure from 8 to 10. No one told me!!

Anyhoo, I decided I wanted a new machine. Ha, ha. Called DME several times, no one called me back. I went and bought an auto online, got the setup instructions and went to town. Ive ordered the software but it'll be a while.

I hope she calls soon..maybe Ill even call them just to hear the reaction.

My CPAP pressure was 10 so I set the auto at 5 minimum and 12 max. Does that sound about right?

If your pressure's supposed to be 10... then 5 will be way too low, wouldn't want to go more than 2 under your required pressure, at least not to start.

Reason for this is that it takes time to get to your required pressure if that's what it takes to clear your events.

Mine was set 4-18 when I got it with the Auto pressure set to 10. I thought it used the low end as the pressure to ramp from/to (SenseAwake I believe is their trademarked term). I think its now 6-18 and 11 based on what I'm seeing in my reports. Some people say lower pressures make them feel like they are suffocating, but then again, I'm using a full face mask and not pillows or a nasal mask.

Yup, Australia. $39. I saw an American site that was selling it for $200+
