Events Seem to Cluster At End of Sleep Cycles

Post by Rocheguy » Sun Jun 06, 2010 4:45 am

I got my S9 three nights ago, and am running Rescan 3.10 (just saw the post about 3.11 and will get that later today). It is absolutely fascinating to see how I am sleeping at night and work towards getting an optimal nights sleep. Thanks to everyone for all of the great posts and resources. This truly is a helpful forum.

After my short time using the S9, I've noticed that most of my events seem to cluster around the end of the sleep cycles (90-110 minute intervals). It seems I sleep great during the sleep cycle, but as it comes to an end, I tend to get a significant cluster of events before another one starts. This could be because I am getting used to sleeping this way, but I was wondering if others saw the same situation.

Thanks.

You are not alone...I at times also see those same results, its like I am anticipating the alarm going off or something. I can go all night with no events and then within just a few minutes have a group of recorded events. Thats where the software comes in so handy...seeing the details of what happened when.

Not that I really need it since I have an S8 machine but where does one get the update from version 3.10 to 3.11?

My understanding is that most of us experience most of our events whilst sleeping on our back OR during REM sleep. REM usually occurs at the end of a sleep cycle and our sleep cycles tend to shorten thru the night w/the shortest cycles, more freqent REM stages and longer REM stages occurring in the early morning hours before waking for the day.
