Does your S9 shut off automatically?

Post by Gracey » Thu Jun 03, 2010 10:26 am

I'm calling on the wisdom of my fellow hoseheads.

Does your S9 automatically shut off after a few seconds when you remove your mask?

My S8 used to be able to do that.

My S9 keeps blowing and blowing until I manually press the off button.

Or is my machine defective? Or is there a setting I can adjust?

Thanks.

You need to engage the StartSmart option. I believe that this is hidden in the Clinician's menu.

I believe what you are saying is the correct operation for " StartSmart On "...
You said : If you detach the pillows from your nose then it shuts down...

Hi Kevin,

StartSmart IS engaged. I checked.

Perhaps using pillows has something to do with it.
Thanks for the tip.

Ah, so... yours does the same thing.
I use pilows, and it definitely does NOT turn off automatically when pulled off my face.

Thanks, I feel better about it now.

My S9 shut off automatically when take off the Nasal Pillow. Do you set your machine to nasal pillow? not sure if it has to do it though.

For the S9, SmartStart is only available for Nasal and Pillows. If you select FF, it will automatically turn off SmartStart and blows continuously.
