There's been discussion about H5i problems, here:

I usually turn on my humidifier, before getting ready for bed, it takes about 20 minutes for the indicator to say "heating completed". But I don't always wait for it to do that.

I am in Phoenix, AZ where it can be quite hot and dry. So what I have to say may be of no value to you.

I started with a PR System One that did not have data. It was easy to tell the plate was getting warm. A setting of 3 or 4 made the air humid without rainout most nights.

I switched to a S9 with ClimateLine hose. I also have it set to autostart and noticed it says cooling down when I take the mask off. I have never bothered to pre-heat the humidifier.

Every morning, I turn it off by holding the power button for 3 seconds before removing the SD card (and re-filling the humidifier tank). I usually don't turn it back on until I go to bed.

After playing around with the dial the first few nights, I left it at 83 degrees. The air seems a little cool the first minute or so, but by the time I fall asleep it is comfortable to breathe. The S9 uses most of the water each night just like the System One did. So I have not been concerned about the temperature of the plate.

My wife and I battle over the AC. I work outside, and the AC in my truck broke last year. So I'm used to the heat. If I had my way the thermostat in the house would be 85 or 90 degrees so it doesn't run-up the electric bill. If my wife had her way it would stay at 72 degrees. My "compromise" is to put it back to 82 degrees every chance I get.

A few nights ago, I forgot to check the thermostat. She had it down to 78 degrees. That morning when I re-filled the humidifier tank, I noticed the bottom of it was warm. Hope this helps a little.

this is probably the blind leading the sighted, but...

I turned off the autostart on my machine.. and set it for manual.. I didnt want it shutting off everytime I took it off,
so you might want to set that on MANUAL..
then you will be starting your machine manually, and it wont shut off if you take your mask off a few minutes..

When its on manual, you can set it to warm up manually too.. by pressing the big right button for three seconds..

my room is is mid fifties in degrees..

climate tubing set for 80

humidity at 3.5

have tweeked all this for a week to stop the rain outs, the desert dry heat in the hose, or freezing cold air up my nose..
its been a wild ride..

I hope you get yours figured out, and when you do, youre going to love it..

Would be interesting to see if he can get it to work. My DME swapped out my H5 but it's still not giving any humidity. I've tried it with the climate line and on manual with a standard hose..still no humidity.

If you have the Climateline tube and humidifier on Auto, can you tell it to warm up ahead of time? I don't see the option and wonder if it's only available in Manual mode. I, too, wonder if the plate is heating at all. I'm not sure how to test it, as I don't want to leave the blower on attached to nothing lest it skew my data. I think I'm totally confused.

from what I have read, it wont give any humidity if your room is any more than 45% humidity already.
Even in manual mode? That's not the way I understand it. If that's the case, I would rather have my S8 back. With a standard hose/slim line, you would think that the manual option will give you what you want? Is that not correct? What's the purpose of even having it (manual mode)there to set it for if it will only work in one mode? I have it on manual with the setting on six and still awake during the night with sever dry mouth. I honestly don't think that it's working..
