Regis Is a Dropout

Post by roster » Thu May 06, 2010 8:16 am

I don't get to listen to C-Span while eating breakfast because my wife insists on viewing the fashion and entertainment sections on Regis, http://bventertainment.go.com/tv/buenav ... index.html.

This morning I caught a few bits of a conversation. Kelly was berating Regis for not using "the hose", as they call it. Regis complained about the hose, the mask and the inconvenience.

Kelly continued to implore him to use the hose and says she can tell the days when he doesn't use it - he is grouchy.

Did anyone catch the whole conversation?

Gee, when my wife berates me for "not using the hose", it's an entirely different topic!

(Did I say that out loud???)

But seriously, can you imagine Regis showing up at airtime with strap marks?? And anything he chooses to do to shorten his lifespan is OK with me...

No, but who cares? Regis is an egotistical little man, petty. He obviously has some nose problems just listening to him speak. If you can stand him. It doesn't surprise me at all that he won't accept and use CPAP and try to acclimate to it.

Careful guys, Regis is a member and posts regularly here. I am still trying to figure out which member name he is using.

I can't tell you the number of people I've encouraged to come here to get help with their cpap issues, who insist on dropping out and "failing" therapy.

What is it about 50% of our population that they are adverse to free help when it's offered?

I guess I should be grateful these people are going to die soon. Oh wait, my tax dollars are gonna keep them alive to 105 on various machines in an expensive nursing home. Forgot about that part...

I suppose Regis can afford his own long-term care, but when he falls asleep at the wheel and kills a family in a mini-van, am I supposed to feel sorry for him and accept that he gets off with a slap on the wrist instead of the death penalty for pre-meditated murder because he refused to accept help with his cpap therapy?

Someone please just shoot me.....
B.

I'd like that show better if they'd replace Regis with Conan O'Brien and the Ditz of the Day (Who the heck is it now?) with a sock puppet.

LOL,
B.

Whether he is here or whether he is a jerk is pretty irrelevant to me truth be told.

I am sorry to hear this though. He is an influential personality and could have helped others to remain compliant based on his own experiences.

If he is here I encourage him to stick with it. As frustrating as the process is, it is so worth it and I would encourage anyone thinking of dropping treatment to give their head a shake. It's hard when your head is foggy to even recognize what OSA is doing to you. It's only after the struggle, and finally sleep can you see what a difference it makes.
These beautiful kids in my avi are my motivation for getting healthy and staying compliant. Need to be around a long time. See my new blog at http://creativekidscakeslife.blogspot.com/ Baking Blog http://feedingtheravenoushorde.blogspot.com

I could be mistaken about that.

Let's face it. It can be excruciatingly hard to adjust to cpap. And if you don't get results fairly soon, its easy to give up on it.

If Regis is a member and reading the forums here then he knows how important it is to use the gear. Fame and fortune will not help you when you are face down on a sidewalk with heart failure.
I get a kick out of the guy and would not want to see anything happen to him or anyone else here. I know the treatment is helping me. My wife tells me she notices a difference.
If anything they give our community some media coverage which can do nothing but raise awareness. I think whether you love or hate the guy that will help us in the long run.

If he dropped dead and Kelly said on the show, "I told him to wear the hose", I guess we would be helped.
