Hi zimmy39
What you have is a medical condition, not something you made up to excuse your sleepiness at work.
It takes most of us some time to sort out all the difficulties associated with starting cpap therapy.
I do not know your machine, but even those who do will probably need some data as to what is happening whilst the machine is on. Are you able to get data from your machine?
The machine is there to prolong your life, to keep other medical problems at bay, and (eventually) improve your daily quality of life. Hate it if you must, but also know what it is there for.
Why not just tell work about your sleep apnea, which is now being treated, although I understand that there are some jobs/work places where you might not want to do this.
not sure what to do
Ask any questions that might help. keep plugging away, and check on that data you need.
Good luck

Re: fustrated!!!!
Did you get your "rainout" problem resolved? (too much humidity.....reported in your previous posts)
In view of the fact that you're using a nasal mask, there's a high probability that you're losing your therapy air out your mouth while you're sleeping.......thus nullifying your therapy.
Also, what are the pressure settings in your machine? It could be that your settings are not optimal.
Turn down your humidity setting, do nasal rinses/cleansing before bedtime and tape your mouth shut.
Go into the setup on your machine and write down ALL of the settings and let us know what they are.

Re: fustrated!!!!
Not knowing where you live, but in a lot of places it is illegal to fire an employee because of a medical condition which is in the process of being treated.
You should get a letter from your doctor explaining that you have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and that you are starting treatment which may affect your work and give a copy (Note: a copy - not the original) to your employer so that they have written notice of the condition.
I say a copy because there are some employers who would just throw it away and act dumb.

Re: fustrated!!!!
Ok, get ready to get into the details of your treatment. They could hold a clue. I see you have an auto listed. Are you using it in auto mode? If so, what is your pressure range? If it is in cpap mode, what is your fixed pressure, and are you using the ramp feature? Are your checking your nightly stats before noon each day? If so, how is your AHI? Leaks? I see you are using a nasal mask - could you be mouth breathing when asleep?
You want to be sure your therapy is actually doing what it needs to do. While you may be gong thru an adjustment phase or needing catch-up sleep, it never hurts to be sure things are in order rather than just continue to wait for improvement. You can do that AFTER you check things out.
Oh, how much sleep are you getting each night? Any trouble going to sleep, waking up too early, or waking up frequently?
Kathy
P.S. I see some others have posted since I started typing. If my info is redundant, just consider it me saying I second the motion.

Re: fustrated!!!!
I work in a factory on sewing machines and use a saw type cutter for knit so it is kind dangerous . and imbaresing. I fall asleep everywhere at friends house when just sitting around.maybe some of the stuff you have all suggested is true.but not really sure how to check stats and other things.and its on auto set.I cant get comfortable with the mask on.I think the pillow is pushing on it cousing it to leak maybe.not sure what to do.
