Remstar Auto A-Flex--how do I get into clinician mode?

Post by sierragail » Sat May 01, 2010 1:41 am

My DME grudgingly replaced my Remstar Auto A-Flex System One yesterday because my machine was failing to give me info on a regular basis. I assumed the new machine was the same as the old one. It looks the same. It has the same name. But it's not the same. I'm having issues with it that I can't seem to resolve.
1. I've been trying all day long to clear out last night's data and I can't. It just won't go away. With my old machine the old data could be erased if I jiggled the GMT offset up and down.
2. But the GMT offset option is nowhere to be found on this new machine--it's not in the list of things under "Settings!"
3. I have changed the settings for auto on/off, humidifier level, AHI on/off, etc, but then when I exit out of clinician mode and then go back into it to check on them, they've all reverted back to the original settings.

I'm baffled and have no idea what's going on.

Thanks to anyone who can help me out with this.

Okay, I just realized the title to my post makes not one bit of sense since I'm already getting into the clinician mode by simultaneously holding down the big gray button and the little button. After about 10 seconds it beeps and let's met get in. But I'm wondering if there's something else I need to do to, is there another handshake or something, geez, I just don't know what's going on. Why can't I erase last night's data like I used to on my old machine? The machines LOOK the same and have the same name, so what's going on?

I go into the Clinician's setup (with the pushing of the 2 buttons together and choosing "setup" once I'm in) and toggle down to "Reset data". Make sure the "reset data" is highlighted. Press and hold the control wheel and the ramp button for at least 5 seconds. The device will beep once and that tells you that the data has been reset. That clears everything to 0 except the machine hours.

Hey Hawthorne!
Thank you so so much for your response! I knew this message board would come to my rescue (yet again). This forum is the best in the world. Y'all are all fantastic. This forum has taught me about sleep apnea and how to use my machine to my maximum benefit---I'd be lost without y'all. Thank you so much.
