what does weekly and monthly average mean?
what does weekly and monthly average mean?
HI,
What does weekly average mean, on my machine it says its 2.3
monthly says its 2.5
Does it mean I average 2.3 AHI a week? That is just hard to believe.
My autopap is set from 5 thru 20
At least a third of the time I am not sleeping when I have the machine on.
thanks.

Re: what does weekly and monthly average mean?
I believe (and I could be wrong) that the AHI is events per hour, and the 7 day and 30 day averages are average events per hour in the past 7 days and the past 30 days.

Re: what does weekly and monthly average mean?
As was stated, those are your per-night averages for 7 nights and 30 nights.elena88 wrote:HI,

Why are you only sleeping 1/3 of the time when you have your machine on? If it's because the pressure changes are waking you up, you need to set your machine in CPAP mode to a fixed pressure.
You also need to get the software to monitor your data.

They are per hour averages for the last 7 and 30 days.

Re: what does weekly and monthly average mean?
But do they just average the daily AHI's (so it's an average of averages), or do they count all the events for the time period and divide by hours used? If the former, than a 4-hour night counts as much as a 9-hour night.
Re: what does weekly and monthly average mean?
This is a very good point. That could skew the numbers quite a bit. I'm not sure anyone knows the answer to this.brain_cloud wrote:But do they just average the daily AHI's (so it's an average of averages), or do they count all the events for the time period and divide by hours used? Re: what does weekly and monthly average mean?
Correct! I just re-read my post and discovered I worded it wrong. They're per-hour averages for those 7 and 30 night periods.msudawg wrote:They are per hour averages for the last 7 and 30 days.
My bad.

Re: what does weekly and monthly average mean?
aha! thank you!
Okay, so that is 2.3 per hour average for the week..
cuz 2.3 per week would be nothing
Well, that is still very good isnt it?

Re: what does weekly and monthly average mean?
Here's my thought. If your titrated pressure was 10 then you could set that as your cpap pressure. If you decide to use auto then you should have a narrower range, maybe 8-12cms. You'll have a much better idea once you get the software.
