Found a mask finally!

Post by Linda Friedman » Mon Apr 19, 2010 8:17 am

I have purchased 35 masks since 2005. Some never made it past the first night. I said there is no way. My last sleep test, they could not correct my episodes of breathing cessation completely with any mask they tried. That is when a Sleep Technician, a brilliant man, offered me a new mask to try. It is called Dream Weaver. It is only a few inches long and looks like the old ped stockings we girls used to wear to try on shoes years ago. Disparate, I tried it. I was a mouth breather and have needed a full face mask forever. This Dream Weaver has given me my life back. I can't see it on my face so I can watch TV in bed with it on. No longer have to wait until I am dozing off to rush and put on my mask. (Before I either fell asleep without it or I woke myself up by the time I put it on). No more horrible red sores on my face where the old mask would rub. Now...the best is that I can turn side to side enabling spouse spooning which I thought was gone for ever. Stop the suffering.

Did you mean Sleep Weaver? I think that mask has been discussed here. It's great that you finally found the right mask for you!

Glad to hear that you found one. I have gone through about 15 masks since being a diagnosed hose head since Oct. 2007. My wife sometimes looks at me cross eyed because of it. Oh well, it is difficult to explain to those that are fortunate, vs. those of us that are not, that a good nights sleep is no longer a head against the pillow and sleep tight. We must now prepare for it, study it and try different things in order to just get to a semi-decent nights sleep.

As Grandmom would say, "fasten your seat belt and hang on, it's going to be a bumpy ride." Or, maybe that was Bette Davis. IDK, it's all just starting to run together now.

I love your quote! As another Grandmom I remember that the film was called All About Eve and Bette Davis uttered that immortal line as she walked down a winding staircase. I think it won the Oscar that year. Of course my Mom told me all about it!
