Good luck!
We have to try all sorts of things, don't we??
I was just thinking about using one of those myself! I can breath through my nose okay, but occasionally my nasopharynx/soft palate obstructs my nose breathing and I think the air is forced out around the prongs.
The only disadvantage is that you don't get the filtering/humidification when you just breath through your mouth........but that's still better than not breathing at all!
Do you think nose/sinus surgery would help? It helped me alot.
One question about clipping your nose closed......will you still have a ton of leakage back out your prongs? Its going to be blowing air out there.
Is it possible you just need to use the large pillow?

Wont that make your nose sore? The clips? Its been a while since I tried those, but it seems like they pinched my nose way too hard when I tried them for swimming once a long time ago.

Have you considered the Oracle mask? its mouth only. You would still need to plug your nose, but it might be a good option for you if this goes well.

Nose clip seems very counterproductive. What about your nose is "very screwed up"?

What do you mean by "blowing too much air"? Contrary to what most people think, a properly operating CPAP does not blow air into our cavities. It only creates a pressure and it does not create additional air flow as compared to normal breathing. The flow through your nasal passages is determined by your breathing effort.

I find that hard to believe rooster, because my new hybrid (with the nasal prongs), actually inflates my nose! You can see and feel it enlarging!

Maybe I'm missing something, but...noseclips are designed to keep the nostrils CLOSED (to keep water out).

And my nose "inflates" a little at 17cm, but (as Rooster correctly pointed out) that's from increased pressure, not airflow. The terms are often confused with each other, but mean very different things.

The OSA patient died quietly in his sleep.
Unlike his passengers who died screaming as the car went over the cliff...

You are actually supporting what I wrote: "CPAP creates a pressure". It is the pressure that is inflating your nostrils not the air flow. This is assuming you have the CPAP system set up properly (no major air leaks, etc.).

When operating properly, there is no air "rushing" into your nostrils. The air is moving in your nostrils at a rate equal to someone breathing normally without CPAP. But the system has created a pressure (to splint your airway open).
