Encore Pro 2.2 - Daily detail is not overwritten!

Post by bailachel » Fri Apr 09, 2010 9:25 am

I posted this in another thread, but it was suggested to me that I should post it separately so that more people will see it. so....

Yesterday I discovered that I could get the daily graphs for the whole time I have been using the PR1 - since November 2009.

It turns out that the application produces the daily detail for the last 7 days of the requested report time frame. By using the "custom" report range and requesting 7 days at a time, I was able to produce the daily detail from 11/14/2009 through current.

This won't matter to anyone who had the software all along, but if like me, you got the software much later, you can still go back and get the detail. Providing of course that your data was not erased when downloaded previously. Your daily detail should be there for the same date range as the summary detail available on your card.

Great Tip! I'll try it.

Do you or any body else know what the approximate number of days data that can be stored on the SD chip? I believe that they are 2GB total capacity.

That seems like a lot of data but they are probably using "severe" data compression algorithms.

I was just curious.

Cheers,

Dave

good question. I don't know what the capacity is, but so far I have 146 days of data on mine.

The other thing is that the machine stores data while the card is out. I had to mail card to DME for complaince. When I put the card back in 4 days later, the data for those 4 days were written to the card. I do not know how many days the machine can hold.

From my estimation of the amount of data increase there is each day, it looks like there is room for two to five thousand days on a 2GB card. That should be enuf for anyone...lol

Its the waveform report that gets overwritten if you dont download it to your machine every day or so. (Waveform is a PR1 thing)

Are you sure that if you were downloading the data on a regular basis, you could go back to a date two months ago and ask for daily details on a particular week back then? If that is true, why can't you get daily details for two weeks or 3 weeks? Another reason this is surprising is that the DME can't get more than the last week of data off EncoreAnywhere.

For some reason the program appears to be written in such a way that it will run summary reports for whatever period you tell it but will only print the daily detail for the last 7 days of the requested period. It seems to be part of the design. The only thing that one cannot recreate is the daily waveform report. However, once the waveform report has been created for a given day, it does not disappear after subsequent downloads.

If your DME can't get the previous data, it could be possible that they have selected the option to remove the data from the card after downloading it. It is a check box option in the EncorePro 2 software and I would expect that there is a similar option in EncoreViewer. However, I am not familiar with the EncoreViewer software so I could be wrong.
