What is your Cflex number?

Post by garyland » Thu Oct 13, 2005 5:39 pm

I have the respironics resmed and I have been using it from day one with the number 3. I thought tonight I would try number 2.

What number do you folks use?

Thanks,
Gary

Mine is set to 3. Am I correct in assuming that 3 is the number that has the greatest pressure decrease when exhaling?

I have been on 3 for over a year, but I read a post saying some have had less trouble with things like aerophagia by turning it down or off.

Yes, Paul, the 3 gives more relief than the 1.

I have just recently turned mine down to 1, but don't know if it helped. The 3 was great to get me use to the pressure initially. Don't know if I could have done without it. My pressure is only 7, but it took a while to get usesd to that--a real wimp I guess. 7 is very comfortable now--feels almost like there's no pressure at all.
Sleep well.

I was using cflex at 2 - when on 3 I was aware of aerophagia, mouth pops & other mask leak related events that I eventually pinned down to the constant reversal of pressure (how cflex works - just before you finish exhaling it starts ramping back up - very rapidly).

My cms was on 15 or 14 (I reduced it to 14 as another way to try & reduce the mouth leaks) but it was only when I turned cflex off altogether that they dropped to negligeable.

Mine is set at 1. Hubby's is also at 1 (when he uses Remstar). His S8 Escape doesn't have c-flex, of course, and he doesn't miss it at all.

Originally, it was at 2 or 3. When beginning cpap therapy, I think it was very helpful.
