I'm not going to use this machine anymore

Post by DottyG » Thu Apr 01, 2010 11:35 am

I'm tired of using this thing. It's uncomfortable. It's a pain to put on every night. It's loud. The mask itches.

I've had it. I'm not going to use it anymore. I don't care about health consequences of not wearing it. I'm sick of all of it.

because I don't want to jinx myself for saying it out loud. But, the last week or so, I've been wearing my mask all night. I haven't taken it off in the middle of the night. Not only that, but when I wake up (and would, formerly, throw it off) to the alarm and still am planning to doze a bi...

Hi Dotty

Yup... yup... yup... yup... and yup.

It ain't fun and it don't look good. No doubt about that. But I guess it like a lot of things that are good for you but no fun. In the end, you're in control of your own therapy or deciding to stop. I sure didn't want to start and it took me 2 years after diagnosis to get started... but now my mind (and body) is ready.

The problem with a lot of choices we make is that we don't get consequences right way... we find out down the road, maybe why our parents were telling us that.

Their experience from making wrong choices didn't seem that valuable at the time... now I listen to people with experience more... I try to learn and make better decisions even if it hurts at the time. I don't know much about your story but I do know you shouldn't give up for the reasons you gave.

Speaking from experience...

Oh my Dotty! I thought you were serious!

I'm still having trouble with mine. I'm going to try to wrangle a copy of my script from my PCP on Monday, then call my DME to try to get something different. Perhaps that Swift FX that I'd love to try... If they give me trouble, I'll just take my script to cpap.com.
