NUVIGIL is a prescription medicine used to improve wakefulness in adults who experience excessive sleepiness due to obstructive sleep apnea, shift work sleep disorder, or narcolepsy. I visited my neorologist last week and reviewed my sleep OSA diagnosis in July 2009 and my subsequent CPAP treatment and he thought I might benefit from taking NUVIGIL. I started taking it on Thursday and have had significant headache issues since. DOes anyone have any experience with this medication? Headaches are a side effect but perhaps there is an adjustment period before you start to experience improvment.
Thanks for your input.

Re: NUGIVIL
I use Provigil and sometimes have the some headaches along with it. But then I also can have headaches when I use coffee. So, it's not just prescription medication. Fortunately my headaches from both are fairly minor.

Re: NUGIVIL
I did have headaches when I first tried Nuvigil. They occurred about 8 hours after I took it, and I never knew if it was a direct side effect of Nuvigil or if I got more sleepy when coming off it (I tend to get headaches when I get tired). I think I also had headaches starting Provigil, which went away. If the headaches are tolerable, and if you feel some benefit from the Nuvigil, it might be worthwhile to play on and see if that side effect attenuates over time for you.
How many mgs of Nuvigil are you on, 150 or 250?
