Mirage Activa LT: headaches!

Post by fuzzyjon » Tue Mar 23, 2010 11:11 pm

I have been trying out the Mirage Active LT for the last week. The mask seems great in every way except one, very critical way: I get terrible headaches after using it for 3-4 hours. As far as I can tell, the forehead stabilizers are pressing too hard into my head. I have loosened them as much as I can before the mask will fall off my face, but to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, were you able to correct the problem?

Hmm I use the same mask and i secure it rather firmly on my forehead not overly but enough so it is secure than i lightly secure the bottom straps. I have not had the headaches like you are encountering.

I've tried this mask before; I get headaches, too. The mask moves with every breath I take, sorta like push ups on my face. The DME supplier said there's a knack to getting it to fit properly - I've only succeeded 1x with good fit, no leaks......I'll keep trying, I guess. I do like the mask.

Hope you get more responses - hope you find something that really works, too. I've tried the Vista, and that seems to work pretty good, except for leaks into my eyes. Argh.......there's got to be that perfect fit somewhere !$!$!$!$!

I use this mask too and have this same problem of mask movement. I don't get headaches though, just a sore nose. I'm thinking of trying it without EPR. This should stop these pushups and allow my nose to heal.

As far as headaches caused by forehead stabilisers...When you wear the head gear the top and bottom straps should be parallel to each other. Maybe you're not pulling the top part of the head gear down enough. Or maybe too much. Just a thought.
