Crocheted hose cover complete :0)

Post by Jaylee » Mon Mar 22, 2010 7:41 pm

After talking to my Mom, who is a good sewer, we decided to leave it with just tied on with yarn. I might get a pretty ribbon in the future. I clean my hose a lot so I wanted it to be easy on and off

Great job. Anybody have a knit pattern that I can get my wife to do?

I crocheted mine and so I didn't have a pattern. I think others have knitted theirs, maybe they will come here and tell you what pattern they used

But basically if you tell your wife that it is basically just a scarf, she might already know how to do it.

Well I am off to bed to turn on my humidifier to setting 1 for the first time. I can't wait to see if the cover helps prevent the rainout

What a "hoot"! But that's positive. I'm very impressed. That should do wonders to help protect the hose and help keep avoid some of the rainout you might get without it. I *am* impressed. Nice job!

I don't know of a pattern but a tube with ribbing at both ends like the leg of a sock should work. The only problem might be getting the cover to stay on the ends of the hose, I wouldn't want to use velcro like my snuggle hose cover has.

Jaylee,
That is a bright colorful alternative to the naked hose. I am certain it will help insulate the hose, and make it soft to the touch. I think it is great especially with your bedspread. Way to go.

I love the bright colours! Great job!

As for a knit pattern - take any sock pattern and skip the foot - maybe also a few stitches less.

Beautiful, Jaylee! I love how it's color-coordinated with your bedspread. It's so nice of you to make one for your dad too. I'm sure that will make xPAP more pleasant for him. Is yours helping with rainout?

Very nice!

These things work well.

My sweet wife made me one out of flanel. Its a long flat piece that is sewn really nice. There are velcro pieces every 2-3 inches so that all you have to do is lay the hose on it and wrap the material around the hose while making the velcro keep the material wrapped around.

Do It Yourself hose covers are great!
