fulllife full face mask leaks

Post by sleepyjan » Sun Mar 21, 2010 9:10 am

Fianally got the full face mask I demanded when my naal mask caused sores on my lips .....demanded full face, DME handed me a bag with a fulllife mask and 3 covers inside, told me I was probably a meium and off I was told to go....no fittings.just "here.use this" NOW...took it home looked at diagrams inside pckg..medium was installed in it already.have tried it for 3 nights ....now mouth is healing but nose is scarlet! the part that goes over the top of nose is also touching the corners of my eyes.is it supposed to? Air leaks all over , how do I adjust those? Is it too tight or loose? Hubby says I snore with the full face mask.....woke up with eyes all gummy and swollen.is it too tight.too loose.wrong size......I want this to work soooooo badly....when I have even a few hrs of "good CPAP" I can really feel the difference!
Second issue of today....Am I jst becoming aware that I feel like early onset Alsheimers or am I becoming aware of somrthing thst's been there awhile and as my mind starts to clear I'm aware of it? It's pretty scary when I almost got lost driving the mile home from work! I din't spell check to show how muddy I feel!

all new masks and airhoses should be soaked in warm water with mild detergent then rinsed, suck water into hose

if still problems you may have an allergy to silicone rubber but this is rare
use face cream in mornings
keeo experimenting with mask tio get a good fit, try it lower or higher on face
you may need a chinstrap if mouth opens wide in sleep and breaks airseal

There should be directions with the mask for a way to break it in . You (if I remember correctly, I hope I don't have the wrong mask) boil some wter, take it off the stove, have a bowl of cold water close by. Dip the mask, holding it by the headgear into the hot water for a minute or maybe less, then dip it in the cool water and mold it to your face.
DO NOT do this unless it's in your directions or another forum member agrees. I have the same mask, could not stop the leaks. Made my nose red, too.

Jan,
I think I"d try the small if I were in your place. Also, try soaking all the parts in warm water for an hour or so...that can make a big difference in how your mask seals. Let us know how things go!

You could also use lanolin nipple cream on your nose. I agree teh smal maybe what you need. Also soak in purell and same water like somone else suggested ( very important). Also use a bandaid for a fee nights if needed until you break it in. Hope that helps.
