CPAP repair men all say many repairs they have to do are caused by partly blocked air filters
if the CPAP is up off the floor, the filter stays clean longer

Good reminder. I pull mine out and shake it out every few days or at least once a week.
Re: CHECK THE AIR FILTER
I have the M series with a gray filter and a white one.
I wash the gray one once a week and the white filter I change every month.....never seems to get dirty but I go through this procedure anyway...After all this is what I breath in....

Re: CHECK THE AIR FILTER
I usually don't change mine all that often. You can wash a lot of the filters just be gentle with them if you don't want to buy new ones.
I always have the CPAP on my bedstand next to the bed, but over the period of a month or two you do get quite a bit of dust build-up (crusty). As snorkler mentioned, just taking it out and shaking it or running it under a tap and letting it dry will get rid of it.

Re: CHECK THE AIR FILTER
Are the ResMed S8 Escape filters the kind that can be washed? Just wondering. I was thinking about stocking up.

Re: CHECK THE AIR FILTER
Not washable. I replace every two months with OEM Resmed Hypo filters. Machine sits on carpeted floor and one month is too soon and three is too long. I still do not understand how Resmed recommends six month filter intervals? YMMV.chellesings wrote:Are the ResMed S8 Escape filters the kind that can be washed? Just wondering. Re: CHECK THE AIR FILTER
My DME suggests that with the S9... do not run under water to clean... only shaking or vacuuming. I haven't looked closely yet. (only 1 day)dave21 wrote:I usually don't change mine all that often. You can wash a lot of the filters just be gentle with them if you don't want to buy new ones.
