Mirage SoftGel now available in Small and Large Wide also

Post by KatieW » Thu Mar 04, 2010 6:05 pm

When this came out, it only came in Medium and Large. For those of you who have the ResMed Activa LT Nasal Mask, and have been waiting to try the SoftGel Cushion, I just noticed it is now available in small, medium, large and large wide.

Hi Katie,

I just got a Mirage Soft Gel Nasal Mask today (in a small). As soon as I put it on, I felt like going to sleep....

Your friend,

Jersey Girl

P.S. I just got my card reader today and may need help learning to use it/interpreting results. Any advice?

Your friend,

Jersey Girl

The software came with the ResScan Clinical Guide in pdf. If you haven't already, print it for ready reference. Be sure to install the driver for the card reader before plugging it into your computer.

It's a pretty intuitive program, and I just learned by playing with it. Download your results from tonight, and see what reports you can make. Then, if you have specific questions, ask away.

If you want to share them here, here's a link on how to do that:

I just got a new Mirage Soft gel today too, and after 4 years on xPAP therapy, I think I have found my perfect mask!! I have been using a comfortgel for the past year, which was also the first mask I ever used. It seems like ResMed has fixed everything that I thought should be done to the comfortgel to make it a perfect mask!! I love this SoftGel!!

Yes, it's bliss to find the perfect mask.

Katie,

Thanks so much for the tip about installing the drivers FIRST. I will print out the .pdf users guide and if I have trouble, I will pm you.

I love my Mirage soft gel - I slept 9 hours without rain out and without getting up once! I feel absolutely wonderful!

Your friend,

Jersey Girl

I have an an Activa Nasal Mask. Does this cushion only fit the LT series? Has ResMed stopped making the old Activa Mask?
I got mine in January but it is not the LT.

This is from cpap.com:

* Activa LT cushions and clips are compatible with the Original Activa Frame, but are not EXACT replacements
* The Activa LT frame is slightly smaller than the Original Activa mask frame; do not mix and match cushion clips
* Activa LT cushions work in conjunction with other Activa LT improvements; We recommend using the entire Active LT mask.

The new softgel is a great mask.......at first I found it felt heavy on my face, but adjusting the Hozer fixed that.....

I debated between the small and the large wide sizes--and while that sounds nuts, I liked the short stature of both sizes, but the wider area in the nasal area of the large wide. (The medium and regular large masks are much longer.) Upon receipt however.....the large wide was a little too wide in the bridge area and created a leak much of the night. So then I lab-ratted the small gel cushion and trimmed the inner layer a bit across the nares, and found the perfect cushion for me! What a find!

Thanks Katie.
I am thinking about getting a Swift FX for my next mask(in June or so). I thought maybe I switch to the soft gel and not get
so much rainout. In the activa I get a few drops that roll around. I'm getting the same few drops in my Swift LT. I hate to turn the
humidifier down any lower. It is set just above 1 now and with winter the house is drier, maybe I'll raise the heat a little.

Dear Hose head,

I can tell you that I have much less rain out in the Mirage Soft Gel. I use my humidifier on 2. I slept 9 hours in it last night and it was delightful.

Katie, Thanks for the heads up! I was just looking at the gel mask and wishing they had it in a small. This is on my wishlist!

For those of you that got the softgel for your LT did you find that the size ran the same as your old insert? I have the large and it is a little narrow for my nose. I have tried the large wide and it sits to low on the bridge....Just wondered how the sizing of the softgel compares to the regular.
Thanks,
Gilley

I have a medium in both the Activa Lt and SoftGel. The plastic clip that attaches the cushion to the frame are identical.
