DRY Mouth
I am new to CPAP. I wear a nose mask and a chin strap. I wake up in the night and in the morning with a very dried out mouth. I have the humidifier up about all the way. What is causing this? What can I do?

Hi, and welcome to the forum.iphonehome wrote:I am new to CPAP. I wear a nose mask and a chin strap. I wake up in the night and in the morning with a very dried out mouth. I have the humidifier up about all the way. What is causing this? What can I do?
You may be losing therapy air through your lips (yes, even with a chinstrap). You can try taping your mouth shut. If that doesn't appeal to you, my advice is to try a full-face mask.
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Thanks for your help. I found taping instructions on this site and that works fine.

In this case, you should probably discuss this with your doctor. If you continue to have those headaches, it could indicate you continue to have apneas. Sure does not sound as if your therapy is effective.
