New to APAP machine

Post by crtrun » Wed Feb 24, 2010 7:15 am

I have been on a CPAP machine for several years with a C-flex setting of 9. I was having trouble with that so my pulmonary doctor ordered a new sleep study. The results from the sleep study was that he ordered an APAP machine with A-flex settings of 9-13.

My machine is an REMstar Auto A-Flex by Responics. It has a SD card on the back. How do I read that card to keep a log of the informaion?

IF there is already a topic on this thread, please refer me to that topic.

Happy CPAPing!

Greetings! I don't think I had the chance to welcome you to the board earlier.

Before I start, if your unit really has an SD card, then the equipment you have listed in your profile is probably not the right equiment. You want to select the Respironics PR System One REMstar Auto CPAP unit. The following link from CPAP.com should match your unit:

https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/respi ... -flex.html

If that's correct and you have the SD card, then you have two options:
  1. Wait until a new version of EncoreViewer is available to read the SD card (should be available later this year)
  2. Find a copy of Encore Pro (V2.2, I think). However, this is more complicated to find a valid (not virus infested) copy and often has more problems during the installation.
Here's a search you might want to start with:

And no doubt others will be able to help.

An additional point of clarification: C-flex and A-flex are exhale pressure relief (EPR) schemes. They are generally user adjustable and can be set from off to 3. The numbers you were giving (9, and 9-13) had to be your pressures. You might want to do some research on the CPAP Wiki (Yellow light bulb at top of page) to learn more about these terms.
