Absurd data from Sandman Info

Post by briank » Mon Feb 22, 2010 11:12 am

Has anybody ever seen a Sandman series machine flip out and munge data like this?

Image

This is a Sandman Info (CPAP, not APAP) at 11 cm. I was not aware of any change in therapy, and woke up with the mask on.

The data looks the same on two different downloads, and was fine for the preceding 200+ nights as well as the following night (ending the recording period).

It appears the time of death was 0200

I'm glad it went back to normal the following night.

that looks like that the machine had a issue and it is trying to wake you up by varying the pressure. I had a similar issue at one night only and I had a large leak and the machine was trying to wake me up to check connections. I would check and verify you hose connections and good and tight and check for any cracks in the hose by bending it a bit. you had some sng readings only during this event which can indicate some air leakage from somewhere.

Why don't you call the company and talk with them. They'll probably have you send the reports so they can see what's happened. From the web site:

Covidien-Puritan Bennett™ Products

Technical Support:
. . . . . . . Telephone support for Bi-Level & CPAP devices, and Spirometry is available Monday through Friday, 6AM to 4PM, Pacific Time (Carlsbad, CA).

Good thought. I'll check it out.

Yeah, I was thinking it might need either a power-cycle or an erase-all-data for house-keeping purposes. Or perhaps wireless hacked from somewhere in China.

Now why didn't I think of that?

Thank you all for the suggestions so far.
