Wipes
Wipes
I use baby shampoo for the occasional full wash of my mask, approximately monthly.
I bought some mask wipes from my DME, and they'll last me a while. Alcohol-free, made of cotton apparently. But $15 for one container.
So I was wondering: what wipes do y'all use on your masks?

Re: Wipes
I use the CPAP wipes, but I cut them in half. I have found that half is plenty and then they last me twice as long.

I use Citrus II CPAP Mask Wipes. Here's the link: http://www.citrusmagic.com/cgi-bin/cate ... =635871639. You get 62 wipes in the container for $9.79. Not bad. I use these daily and my mask is always fresh, never has any odor and the materials and ingredients are very safe for your silicone pillows.
I also do a very thorough hot water/ivory dish liquid cleaning of nasal pillows, nasal/gel masks, hoses etc once a week. I also disinfect my humidifier every week.

I bought some just a few weeks ago 2 for $15.95. Same product, citrus 62 ct. I cannot recall the company but will look. I found them on internet. For now, you can buy 2/$18.95 from Tinas Homecare. I have bought from her also.TWW wrote:I use baby shampoo for the occasional full wash of my mask, approximately monthly.

Re: Wipes
Well I have been using Clorox (non-bleach) orange scented wipes in a canister with 75 wipes, I think for about $4. I actually get 3-4 cleanings for each wipe because I cut each one at just 2" when I pull it up from the canister. Plenty enough to clean either a FFM cushion or nasal pillows. Works just fine. I would love to hear from anyone who has compared the really expensive specialty cpap wipes with these. I'm betting there is no difference.

I use the Citrus II CPAP wipes...I cut into quarters.... just a quick wipe of my pillows while getting ready for bed.

Re: Wipes
I use the cpap wipes and put it in a baggie so it wont dry out and reuse it--then i rinse them out and use them with a little water for a couple days--last a long time --
Re: Wipes
I've been using lanolin-free baby wipes from almost the start of my therapy. I tried some antibacterial ones that the cpap supplier recommended, but found that I ended up with an itchy irritated face afterwards. So I've stuck with the baby-wipes, and wash the mask and pillow in warm water with some facial cleanser in it once a week or so (depends if I've drooled in my sleep or not )

Re: Wipes
I use liquid Joy detergent diluted by about 2 parts water and in a foamy push dispenser. I wash the cushion twice and my face twice, then wipe the cushion and mask area of face with Witch Hazel just before putting it on. The Witch Hazel helps it lightly stick to the face a bit.
