Remstar Plus Model 1005960

Post by ChicagoGlen » Sat Feb 20, 2010 9:39 am

All,

I am a first time poster and a long time CPAP user.

I have the Remstar Plus Model 1005960 with 18,957 hours on it.

Last night I filled the humidifier and when I powered the CPAP on I accidentally pulled the device of the night stand and while the CPAP was running the water in the humidifier flowed into the CPAP.

I now get the error code of E-14.

What are the odds this will dry out and work again?

Can it be repaired? If so, how much am I looking at?

Thanks for the help,

Glen

It is possible, though unlikely, that when it dries out it will work fine. You can research the outcome from other people who ran into this problem:

However, as I gaze into my crystal ball, it seems all too likely that a new machine will arrive in your future.

About 50/50.

You could check with this place (in the following link), but in view of the amount of use/hours it's had, it may be more prudent to put the money into a new or newer-used one.

I hope you had a backup machine......

Don't plug it in unless it has completely dried out. Most all electronic devices if left to completely dry before turning on will surprise you. Our basement flooded about a half dozen computers I was working on and we let them dry over a period of 3 days and then when I saw no moisture we checked them out and they all worked. Let us know what happened.
