Lansinoh cream. You can find it at Target in the baby section. It is used by nursing mothers for sore nipples.

YEP--Riosie is correct!! Lansinoh cream. It is a TUBE. It is used by nursing mothers for sore nipples--works great on your nares and makes a great seal. You can find it at Walgreens, Target, Wally World and CVS--it is in the baby section.
Good Luck!

LANSINOH - meaning - Lanolin without alcohol!sleeplessinaz wrote:Lansinoh cream
Judy, this cream (over here) is very expensive but after experimenting
with other creams (ointments), Lansinoh is still the best
for nose dryness and sores in the corner of your lips
(mouth breathing, drooling, mouth tape)
As I said, it is expensive but one uses a tiny bit (very tiny)
Jude, I'll pm later - weather has cooled down but still no rain!

Hello Marietjie --it is kind of expensive here too. Probalby about ten US dollars a small tube. But like you said--one only needs to use a tiny bit each time. I do use it on my lips sometimes too--makes the lipstick go on smoother--LOL!

I don't like the smell of Lansinoh, believe it or not I use K Y lubricant in my nostrils. It is water soluble, and even is recommended to lub some water filter gaskets.
I keeps my nostrils moist for long time.

You could also try Ayr Saline Nasal Gel. It is much runnier/wetter than Lansinoh, which is thick and sticky.

So do these solutions tend to also help prevent leaks? Do any make leaks worse?

All I can add is that I was advised to never (!) use anything that had petroleum in it because petroleum will cause the nasal pillows/etc to disintegrate!

I bought the Lanolin recently and it seemed to help a bit.I think I need a smaller nasal pillow and am waiting for one from my DME. But what also helped was increasing the humidity on my machine.
Good luck!
