OT OMG 4 Inches of Snow So Far

Post by Muse-Inc » Fri Feb 12, 2010 6:46 pm

Unheard of...doncha all laugh at us now, we have to have set a record for snow here! Temp barely above 34 all day & going to 21 tonight...we are not prepared for this sort of weather! But it sure is pretty! Watching the kids across who begged to use our snow to make a snowman an hr ago was great fun...they have no yard, it's all a hill, ours is about a 30-35 degree slant...considered a flat yard for this area. 155 bridges/overpasses in the central city area and 9 sand trucks I live on a hill, not big, but a grade nonetheless...we ain't going nowhere tomorrow that's for sure!

EDIT: I just checked, still 4 inches but COLD! The kids made a cute snowman with arms and a face with a huge snowball next to him...and we still have a lot of snow!

Is that the white stuff I keep seeing on TV??? Where do you guys get all that sand and the pumpers to push it up in the air??

If you don't get the jokes (nobody does), I've never seen snow (Orlando, Fl).

PS: Say hi to my Uncle and his kids (Alpharetta)....

Snow is a main reason I jumped at the chance to get the job I have now. Better South Florida than New Jersey any day of the week!!

I believe you folks were suffering from a drought the last few years. You gotta take the moisture in whatever form it comes.

The next few months are when we get the snow with the moisture content. We've got many dry years to make up for, too.

I'm sorry I have to laugh. I live in northern Minnesota and 4 inches of snow is nothing. Our high temp today was 24 and that felt like a heat wave. BTW living on hill is perfect for sledding.

Now y'all are laughin' at this hot house Southern Belle... that's not nice

Expect I'm gonna see a whole bunch of that tomorrow! Sleds are pretty much an unknown in these parts so it'll be kids & adults on trash can lids, cardboard boxes, plastic whatever's that are flat and slick. And likely a few idiots trying to drive on an iced hill.

Can I get a "rain check" for that?

Actually, I won't know how much until about May.....June.....July.....

The weather patterns have been weird since '88. (fires in Yellowstone) Last year was the first one for a long time that sorta seemed closer to "normal". (as I remember them) I'm hoping this year might be the same or better.

But, thanks for the offer.

Here in Texas we got 4 inches upwards to 12 inches in some parts of the state. I love it, it reminds me of Michigan.

Here in PA we get a decent amount of snow each winter, nothing spectacular. However, we just got hit with a MASSIVE storm last week and after all was said and done we ended up with 29 inches!!! We had an entire week off of school/work and are still trying to dig our way out!!
