I have noticed that at times my pressure starts to rise when I don't think it should. I am using a full face Mirage Quatro on a ResMed AutoSet II pressure range is set at 12 - 15.
I start the machine and run the leak test which shows excellent. I lay down and the pressure will increase within the first 15 minutes. I can't feel or hear any leaks.
However, I have also noticed that at times I can get my mouth to puff out and at other times I can't. I guess the questions I am asking are:
Does the fact that your mouth will not puff out indicate that air is leaking even if you can't hear or feel it?
Will the leak cause the pressure to raise even if you are breathing normally?
I am going to change to the Aptiva Soft Gel nasal mask because I think it will provide a tighter seal since all it has to deal with is the nose. I have been able to get leak free nights with the Quatro but it seems to be getting harder to do.

any indication on the software graphs about leak?
Re: Leak Indicator?
Probably not leaks. Breathing when you're awake is not like when you're asleep; it's often irregular in frequency and in how much air you're inhaling with each breath, the machine likely gets confused by this and increases pressure thinking the irregular breathing is a precursor to an event. Sometimes my pressure starts increasing immediately; when it does that, I sit up, turn it off, remove the mask, and practice some deep breathing or relaxation techniques to slow my breathing and clear my mind...then, I mask up, do the mask fit test, get comfy, reach over & turn APAP on, and settle into sleep.JRI wrote:...I start the machine and run the leak test which shows excellent.
