sneezing non-stop with constant runny nose!

I began using C-pap the type with the nose cushion a year ago last October. The Sneezing and runny nose that started from the beginning is now to the "I can't stand it!" point. At least four or five days a week I fight it. Last night I sneezed and dripped into my nose cushion so hard and long I thought I would have to give it up. I am miserable, antihistimine hardly works and I wake up with that drugged out feeling, day time I can't get anything done due to it's sleepy effects. Life isn't very enjoyable, my friends who must sleep with c-pap seem to do ok, only occasional running and sneezing. Help! Help! Help!

Are you using a humidifier? I had the same problem until I started using one.

I was in the same boat as you. I began using cpap last december with a opus 360, and all my sinus symptoms started having a wild party.

I just found out what is the main cause of my problem is dryness, and as you said not amount of histaminic helped me.

I don't know if it is caused because I am from Houston, TX and I am working in Denver Co, so the humidity change is in the opposite spectrum. The cpap air flow made it worse.

I had used the netti pot, and the walgreens saline spray, until recently I have never used the Ocean saline spray. Wow, the Ocean spray has made my life a lot better, it keeps my nose moist ( I have to warn you , in my case I went thru the first bottle in just 2 days), I use it everytime i feel congested. I also have a netti pot wash 30 min. before using the cpap, and before I put my mask two full sprays of ocean on each nostril.

I also found out that I have to set my cpap machine PR system one humidier to 4 or 5, lower than that I get congested.

Give Ocean spray a try, if the dryness causes all the symptoms.
