I currently use the ResMed S8 AutoSet II with my apap range at 12-15cmH2o with an epr of 1. I was wondering if I would do better with the ResMed Vpap Auto 25? I was thinking this that it would help with my Mirage Liberty from leaking? If I purchase a Vpap Auto 25, what would you recommend for the pressure settings? I was titrated at a pressure of 12cmH2o. I believe that the ResMed Vpap Auto 25 would help with my Mirage Liberty leaking issues. Do you think in your opinion that this would be more beneficial for me? Please let me know. I look forward to getting your response into this matter. Thanks again for your help.
Sincerely,
Chad (Ephskiing)

IMO is to set your machine to the prescribed titration pressure. I believe the ResMed machines have some compensation built into them for leaks. There is a clinical menu on your machine where the type of mask can be specified. I would not recommend a VPAP machine at your pressure. I would suggest that you continue to work with your mask adjustment until the leaks are .4 liters per second or less.

azhosehead,
Do you think I should be using straight cpap at my titrated pressure of 12cmH2o instead of using Apap at the range of 12cm to 15cmH2o? do you have any recommadations on how to get the best seal possibly with the Mirage Liberty full face? I know you are supposed to be under 0.04 L/S. any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for your help.

Using your AutoSet II as a straight CPAP at your titrated pressure is most likely your best option. Your next best option if you really want to stay in auto mode might be to reset to 1 cm below and 1 cm above your titrated pressure. Stay at any ONE change for at least 3 nights, better yet a week, before making any other ONE change.

Re: ResMed Machines and ResMed Mirage Liberty
I can't advise you on a VPAP machine. I have 3 masks, the Quattro, the Liberty and an Opus 360 nasal pillow mask. The Liberty is difficult to adjust for some. I know I have struggled to get the adjustments just right. I often get leaks around the corners of the mouth. This is a common complaint from what I have heard from forum members. You may want to consider another type of mask. Or play around with the adjustment straps on the Liberty. See this:
