Sleep Study tomorrow night

Post by JeffH » Sat Jan 23, 2010 8:57 pm

with follow up the next morning and an appointment with a urologist later Monday afternoon. Hopefully by Monday night I will have some answers as to what is making me not sleep and pee 50 times a day. Good thoughts and prayers welcomed...I really need some help with this. The last month has been a living hell.

Thanks all,

JeffH

I am sorry to hear you are still having such a bad time. I hope the tech has good training and experience, and the sleep doc knows his job. Sounds like you need for things to improve and fast.

Will they give you some Ambien so you can sleep? I know that you were worried about not being able to sleep when you wrote about this another time. I would imagine that even if you are not sleeping they can tell other things that might be keeping you awake.

Good luck to you my friend. I also hope what they find is easy to fix so you will be back to feeling great right away.

They said I would get something. They said the point it to sleep so they can get down to business. He didn't say Ambien, but he may have said the generic name for it.

I believe he said there were now 88 know sleep disorders. Guess I got one more than I thought I did.

Thanks for the kind words, Catnapper. I appreciate it.

Jeff

Not sure what your going problem is, I have heard Prostate problems can cause that, I myself was waking up 10 or 15 times a night before being diagnosed with OSA but after starting CPAP treatment I could sleep all night without getting up and going.

Good Luck

That's what I think is going on. They put me on Flomax about 10 days ago, but not getting any relief from it. Insomnia started first and then the pee deal started. I'm wondering if lack of sleep can effect the prostate? Guess I'll find out Monday.

John

Furosemide: This loop diuretic is used in order to regulate urine production in the daytime hours in order to decrease urine production during sleep. Furosemide functions to block ion flow in the kidneys allowing urine production to be more controlled. It is important to consult a healthcare professional to find out if this medication is the right one for you.

My Doc has me on this for treatment of leg edema

Welcome! I came out with a diagnosis of severe OSA and I pee'd 8-10 times/night. I quit peeing at night on the first night on CPAP therapy...yippee!!! First 4 nights were from hell as I had trouble staying asleep when my machine hit full pressure; night 5, slept the entire night without a single wakeup! Took 3-4 wks for bone-deep exhaustion to become plain ole tired. Energy levels not restored until I hit 9 months as a hosehead. BP (210/110, was on a diuretic & an angiotension receptor blocker) started reducing by month 18 & is now normal tho I still take a diuretic for other reasons. While I had good results in the beginning, my overall recovery has been slow compared to some..we're all unpredictable in that particular parameter. Good luck!

Good luck Jeff. I hope it is something simple with a simple fix.
