Yacht cruising and cpap
I have plenty of sailing miles including weeks offshore but never with a cpap machine. Anyone have any experience? cant see any major problems with 2 machines, 2 portable batteries, the trip is from Sydney to phuket Thailand on a 40fter and its not a race just a cruise. Advice appreciated

just to add i don't use a humidifier so water spillage wont be an electrical problem.

I would have thought a 40-footer would have a 12vdc shipboard supply. If not, then I'd be sure your batteries have enough capacity. Never having used battery power, I can't speak to that.

I have sailed several times with my CPAP, but never on a yacht. If you would like to buy a ticket for me, I would be happy to help you figure it all out whilst on board.

You will probably need to figure some way to secure your CPAP in place; perhaps using bungee cords. Power is going to be your main consideration. You may want to consider putting your machine into a large ziplock bag while you are not using it if your CPAP will be exposed to salt air.

THE Batteries would be back up only and should run okay on the boat battery my main concern is how cpap will handle being tossed about in wild weather so i will build a dedicated cpap holder in the berth. Was just wandering if anyone here has had any experience with long voyages. outasync as long as your happy to climb the mast then your welcome. Your ticket is in the post

Been there, done that. No problems, but did not have any especially "wild" weather. I used a battery at night and recharged it from the boat generator during the day. The machine was secured so it never got thrown around, and it stayed dry.
Go to sleep!
