Where to get Resmed Oximeter?

Post by jschumann » Sun Jan 10, 2010 5:20 pm

Does anybody know where to get the S8 reslink-embla xpod oximeter?

I have a CMS-50E, but correlatig it to the Resscan software screen is difficult.

Thanks,
John

Hi John,

Slinky did purchase one of these but they cost a fortune because you have to buy a Reslink unit as well.

The Reslink comes in 2 models 1 for S7 shaped machines (like the Vpap Adapt SV) & 2 for the S8 shaped machines. This part can cost between $200 (if you can still find them at this price) to $400 (the usual quoted price). THEN you have to buy the SpO2 unit. The SpO2 unit is a complete self contained component consisting of the finger probe & a minature SpO2 device. This plugs into a 3-pin socket on the Reslink.

The typical total price for the SpO2 unit PLUS the required Reslink unit is $500-$600.

The final result in ResScan is not as nice as you might hope for. In fact, very mediocre. Hopefully Slinky
can give her hands on experience re this.

Both ResScan and the CMS SP02 software produce variable resolution time series graphs.

I've never had any particular problem with correlating events between the graphs produced by each piece of software.

Cheers,

Bill

Hi John

Provided your CMS-50E is time synchronised with your cpap machine, I would think that you would be able to compare both results, but I do not have your machine so cannot be sure.

I can with mine, without any problem, as Bill says he can with his.

Hope you can save your money.

cheers

You can change the resolution of ResScan graphs to fit that of your pulse oxymeter. Look for the tiny window on the top left of each group of graphs -- defaulr resolution is probabl 24 hours, you can change that down almost as much as you need.
