What do you mean, 'bump'?
Sometimes it powers up normally and runs fine.
Resmed said, that it is a motor issue and wants me to send it back.
If I have bought it on an auction, but it is still under warranty, where do I send it?
Will they accept directly from me or do I have to locate the DME who sold it in the first place?
Anil.

"bump" is posted to send a thread to the top of the list to get people's attention. If it were me, I would contact ResMed and ask them what to do with the machine to get it fixed/replaced.

Generally, they insist you take it to a local DME provider who then takes care of sending it in for repair or replacement.

Have you contacted the person you purchased it from about this issue? That would be a starting point. Was it a private individual or a business offering it at auction?

When my local DME provider would not handle my recalled Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage that I had bought lightly used, Resmed had SteriCycle handle the Recall. SteriCycle sent someone out w/a new Vantage. She accessed the settings on my recalled Vantage and set the replacment Vantage to those settings for me, then took the recalled Vantage w/her and that was the end of that problem.

Check w/the local DME providers in your area to find one that offers Resmed xPAPs and ask them to handle the return to Resmed. If you can't find anyone who will then contact Resmed again, explain that none of the local Resmed providers will handle sending it in and ask how they will handle the repair/replacment under warranty. According to Resmed any local Resmed dealer 'should' handle warranty work whether purchased from that dealer or not.

For all the locals know you bought it while living or visiting out of state. I know for the Recall Resmed reimbursed the locals quite handsomely for handling the Recall. I had a copy of the letter Resmed sent to all their dealers outlining the procedure and reimbursements.

That was very helpful.
I have traveled out of the US after purchase from an individual and would remain out of the country for some more time.
However I have colleagues and friends in the US to whom I can ship this unit and they can deal with the DMEs. I can also ship it back to the original owner and have him deal with the DME. I have emailed him but no reply till now because maybe for the new years holidays. He is a good guy who would be all willing to help. He lives in Florida.
However the machine would be brought back to me from New York where my uncle lives and he would be traveling to where I am currently in three weeks time.
Now another question:
When the DME gives me a replacement machine, will that machine be mine permanently or that will be only standby and Resmed would send my original unit after repairs back for another exchange?
Thanks.

I can't answer that for you I'm afraid. That Recall was my only experience.
