Made it six hours on my first night! No snoring, and the wife says I will go before that machine does!
Opus360 is great!!!! The nasal mask they used for my Titration broke my face out so I was worried about skin irritation. Machine reported very low leakage (0.00) but my AHI was 9.5? Thinking that should be lower by what I have been seeing on this forum. Went to bed on my back and woke up on my back, which I never do! I am a flopper most of the time. Exhaling is the hardest part to get used to, but it seems like my body just deals with it once I am sleeping.
I would have gone longer, but my kids had Santa on the mind and woke us up early. So far so good!

Re: First night went well
You're fortunate to have had such a good first night!
You machine has a way of analysing breathing patterns that will cause it to see more Hypopneas than other machines. So its double important to look separately at the Apnea Index (AI = average apneas per hour) and the Hypopnea Index (HI = average hypopneas per hour). If your AHI (that's AI+HI) consists of mainly HI, and your AI is low, you can be sure you're going in the right direction.

A very good start, rlittle1970!!! What was your AI (hourly apnea index)? As ozij said, that's the most important part of the AHI (apnea/hypopnea index). An AHI under 10 is considered acceptable with the ResMed machines, since they do tend to overscore hypopneas. With other machines, under 5 is best. The lower, the better, especially with the apneas (AI). Can't get better than 0.00 leaks! It sounds like you slept VERY soundly too. I hope you felt good today.rlittle1970 wrote:Made it six hours on my first night! No snoring, and the wife says I will go before that machine does!

What "mask type" do you have set on your machine? I think they recommend "Standard" for all non-ResMed masks. If the wrong mask type is selected, the machine can show an inaccurate leak rate, so I thought I'd mention that. Also, on the ResMed machines, you can't read the LCD daily data from the previous night after noon.
As I mentioned on the earlier thread, I recently ordered the Opus 360 mask. I thought it would arrive yesterday, but it didn't. Maybe tomorrow....
The exhaling will get easier over time. I hope you have a very restful, full night of sleep tonight and for many nights to come! I hope you have time this weekend so you can sleep as long as you need to. Your wife must be delighted not to hear the snoring!
